Verdict

The three principals on the formbook, Cape Of Good Grace, Poinsettia and Maggie Neary, all have question marks. The former tries the trip for the first time after being outpaced over shorter though she's bred for pace while Aidan O'Brien's filly hasn't been seen since October. She's a more likely winner than Maggie Neary, however, though the latter is expected to be suited by the extra quarter-mile. Jim Bolger's newcomer ALABELLE is by Galileo out of a middle-distance winner from a classic family. She's the fifth foal of the mare who has already produced four winners so a successful start to her career is predicted.
