In depth

Verdict

Pay Day Kitten is a very interesting newcomer being a half-sister to three winners in the USA and out of a winning mare. She wouldn't need to be a world-beater to make a winning start but the experience of MAGICIAN may be just too much for her on this testing ground. Aidan O'Brien's colt put a moderate opening run behind him with a fine effort behind Mouteab at Dundalk and the son of Galileo looks set for his first victory. Irish Bulletin and Jasgo Star were both a long way behind in that Dundalk event and neither can be seriously fancied to turn the tables while Bainne never threatened on her debut in very heavy ground at Fairyhouse, though the extra furlong here should be in her favour.
