Verdict

Havagoodsip has shown a little promise but two falls from six starts over fences suggest he may be best watched on his reappearance. Dual winning point-to-pointer King Rocco has done well enough over hurdles and should be better suited to the bigger obstacles. He has plenty of scope and can go well here though ISLAND WOOD is taken to lose his maiden tag over fences at the 11th time of asking. John Walsh's charge has been a little unfortunate not to have scored by now and though he hasn't been seen since April won't get many better chances. Puddencullinan improved at the end of his point-to-point career and showed enough ability over fences earlier this year to get competitive here while Melchizedek jumped well enough on his chasing bow at Limerick though he looked as though a longer trip than this would suit him better.
