In depth

Verdict

OFFER makes his belated debut and judging by entries in all the big mid-distance events over the next few weeks is expected to earn his keep. Whether these conditions will be helpful to the son of Montjeu is another matter but the potential is obviously there and connections wouldn't be running him unless happy with the ground. The filly Teofilina hasn't done much wrong though she doesn't look a stable star on what she's achieved so far and Hartani may prove a bigger threat as he looked in need of further when staying on nicely over 1m2f at the Curragh last month. The cheaply-bought Raven's Claw was a 20/1 chance on his debut at Dundalk in December but stayed on powerfully over that mile and is another sure to be suited by the longer trip. He should do better than stablemate Ibsen, who was well beaten at Navan on Sunday.
