Verdict

A poor handicap which was won last year by Fiery Oscar, who should make a bold bid again despite poor recent form as he's only 3lb higher. Do The Bookies is consistent enough but still looks a few pounds high while blinkers will need to have the desired effect on Golden Firth, who didn't show much on his handicap debut at Navan. MOUNT VESUVIUS is back with his original handler after a couple of runs in the UK where he showed promise on his latest start at Plumpton. He wouldn't need to improve much to take this and, with his rider's claim taken into consideration, he could be a blot on the handicap. Zara hasn't been running as badly as her form figures suggest and she can make the frame.
