Verdict

Evanescent won a maiden over C&D last month but the runner-up has let the form down since. FAYR FALL scored at Wolverhampton before going close to It's A Mans World, who runs in the previous race, over track and trip. The latter went on to win again and Tim Easterby's charge may come out best in this. Fine Altomis and Mick Slates have both been beaten off higher marks since winning last month and Star City could only manage third back in handicap company last time having got off the mark at Catterick before that. Jay Kay will need to step up on his recent victory at Southwell but Safe House is not easily dismissed.
