Compton Plume, Danish Blues and Cabourg are the three that catch the eye here, with preference for Compton Plume to take this for local trainer Mick Easterby. A Kempton winner in October, Danish Blues has been running consistently recently, and has been runner-up in his last two starts. He looks sure to be thereabouts, but this looks a little tougher than his recent assignments. Still a maiden in twenty starts, Cabourg has been running well enough to suggest he can take a race of this nature. He does lack a finishing kick though and may have to settle for a place again. Compton Plume won here in August, and ran well in defeat at Catterick recently. The yard is in decent form, and in an open affair, Compton Plume is taken to open his account for the season at a track he likes.
