Verdict

Strikemaster won this last year but has only had one run subsequently and is worth opposing this time. BEAT THE SHOWER is on a losing run but has won three times on a soft surface, the last two off higher marks. He was only beaten a length-and-a-half over 1m6f at Redcar last month and this looks his opportunity to get back on track, though Anne's Valentino is starting to come down the weights again and Captain Sharpe has travelled a long way for this. Winning hurdler Short Takes is lightly-raced on the Flat and could be best of the rest.
