Verdict

Gabrial's Kaka was an impressive winner at Pontefract but a 6lb rise makes this tougher and stablemate Asgardella, not beaten far in a Newbury Listed contest in May, could have a better chance after being given a break. EQUITY RISK has won three times but probably ran his best race so far when runner-up to the impressive Short Squeeze at York. He had no chance with the winner but stayed on strongly in the closing stages and this looks no tougher. Altharoos had looked a progressive type when runner-up to Frog Hollow at York and ran so poorly at Newmarket last time that something was obviously amiss. Luhaif has received a bit of respite from the handicapper after a poor run at Newbury and would be a certainty if anywhere near the form that saw him less than a length behind Olympic Glory in last year's Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
