    Verdict

Beat The Tide was only beaten half-a-length over course and distance in June but has been rather harshly raised 5lb for that effort. Caledonia has gone up 7lb since getting off the mark on the Flat at Musselburgh while the handicapper appears to have taken a grip on Hallstatt again. HOT SPICE failed in his hat-trick bid at York but was taking on much better opposition. He likes fast conditions so may be worth another chance in this with Fallon on board. Kodicil has won three times on the level but hasn't raced since finishing tailed off over hurdles at Southwell in March.
