In depth

Verdict

Keltic Cliche has already won a bumper but it is difficult to win these races under a penalty so Jonathan Geake's mare looks best watched and it may be worth taking a chance with one of the newcomers LADY RHINESTONE, who gets the verdict ahead of Brukirk Lass. Alan King's filly won well on her debut at Towcester in November, staying on well over the extended 1m6f, and she should appreciate the longer trip today but she does have a penalty to carry. Fleur de Vassy is bred to be useful being a daughter of Alflora and the Venetia Williams-trained mare makes more appeal than David Arbuthnot's Star Ar Aghaidh. Gilwen Glory has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated and a better bet looks to be Lady Rhinestone. Nicky Henderson's mare lacks any racecourse experience but she is bred to be useful and comes from a yard that knows how to have their runners ready so she may be worth chancing.
