Verdict

ASSAM BLACK stayed on nicely in the closing stages at Newton Abbot last month and can go one better here. Minella Scamp won a point-to-point in March but disappointed on his debut under Rules in a Chepstow bumper while Mr Bridger was beaten 20 lengths at Wincanton in April. The booking of McCoy for Paul Webber's Turkey Creek catches the eye and the King's Theatre filly Ivor's Queen may be best of the other newcomers.
