Verdict

BILLY MERRIOTT has obvious claims for a yard that sent out the winner of this race twelve months ago and has a 54 per cent strike rate with their runners in bumpers at the track and he's taken to build on the promise shown at Fontwell in a race where the first three pulled clear of the field. Hes Our Lad shaped well at Worcester and appears to be the principal threat on that evidence although the market will guide to the chances of the newcomers. Dineur represents top connections and wouldn't need to be out of the ordinary to make a winning racecourse debut in this company but neither Mister Gold nor Wosayu are the most obvious candidates on paper.
