In depth

Verdict

GOTOYOURPLAY looked a fine prospect when landing novice events at Newbury and Exeter a couple of years ago and can reappear after a long absence on a very lenient mark. His trainer is very adept at bringing them back in top shape and he can start making up for lost time. Poungach has been racing in much better including a fourth place in a Wincanton Listed handicap but he's run poorly on his last two starts and might struggle to concede 23lb to the selection. Well Refreshed won the Grade 3 Grand National Trial at Haydock last February and has been struggling following a massive weight rise. The veteran Massini's Maguire, twice a winner in Listed races at Ascot in his last four starts, has had his problems and finished last on his reappearance following a two-year absence at Doncaster last month. Giles Cross, a top staying chaser in his time, has pulled up in three major staying handicaps since landing the National Trial at Haydock in 2012. Whispering Jack won a Ffos Las handicap last May but has hardly picked his feet up since.
