In depth

Verdict

Former winners Putney Bridge and No Panic set a fair standard in this bumper and preference is for the former, with Threerockmountain rated the pick of the remainder. The selection, a winning pointer, made a successful start to his rules career when landing a bumper at Galway prior to a respectable effort at Naas when last seen in October. Lack of a recent run need not be of concern with the yard's runners in good form and Putney Bridge is taken to resume winning ways here. Partner In Crime has to be respected on his debut with the yard of Charlie Longsdon in good form, while Pat Eddery's New Ambitions should have learned from his debut effort in a better race than this at Sandown. Threerockmountain is an interesting newcomer and has to be considered along with recent Hereford winner No Panic but it is Putney Bridge that gets the vote.
