Verdict

MIDSOMMARKRANSEN never threatened behind a Willie Mullins hotpot at Leopardstown on his latest start but the Irish raider had gone close at Thurles before that. A repeat should see Jim Culloty's charge in the mix along with War On The Rocks. The latter will find this easier than his latest task at Cheltenham while much better is expected from Charming Charlie this year after a modest debut at Wincanton last April. John Monash is another Irish challenger worth keeping an eye on given Gordon Elliott's newcomer is a brother to the bumper winner Officer Cadet.
