In depth

Verdict

THE FERICK was beaten three lengths by Dirty Bertie on his racecourse debut at Towcester but was clear of the remainder, despite running green. He'll know more today and should open his account with AP McCoy taking over the reins from a conditional. Swaledale Lad has a penalty to carry for his victory at Sedgefield in May but should make the frame again, though Crescent Beach wasn't beaten far on his reappearance at Uttoxeter. Newcomer I Shot The Sheriff is Flat bred and could be interesting but One For Lou needs to show more than on his debut at Warwick in January.
