In depth

Verdict

Lord Ali McJones has gone backwards since being placed on his first two starts but still looks best of those with experience. The newcomers are fancied to fight this one out, however. Fresa's dam won twice on the all-weather and any strong support in the betting should be noted, but the vote goes to another first foal in VOCIFEROUS. Her dam was the precocious two-year-old Sander Camillo, who won both the Cherry Hinton and the Albany Stakes, and Mark Johnston's filly may well prove good enough to score at the first time of asking. Scrooby Doo is a half-sister to a Fibresand winner and could prove best of the rest.
