In depth

Verdict

The short list here contains Gold Digger Miss, Ben Chorley and Sheriff's Silk, with the selection being Gold Digger Miss. Gold Digger Miss won very easily on her debut at this track last time, and a mark of 67 - coupled with the extra furlong of today's race - should see her competitive today. Ben Chorley won his Newcastle maiden well enough and a mark of 77 might not stop him from running well. Jord needs a career-best effort if he is to score, while Chjimes needs to better recent efforts. Sheriff's Silk has been running well but was beaten here off today's mark last time, albeit over a furlong shorter. Barry Hills' Radical Views is a potential improver on his all-weather debut, while Divertimenti romped to victory in a Leicester seller last time, but today's connections went to 11,500 guineas to acquire him. Proper is well-weighted based on his Catterick win in May - on which he comfortably holds Nota Liberata - although he needs to improve on his all-weather form to date if he is to score. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Gold Digger Miss.
