In depth

Verdict

Garde Bien, Manx Royal and Mister Friday are three against the field in a tough race to call for punters and the tentative vote is given to Garde Bien. The selection won well last time out when beating Flight Command and although having a penalty for that win he won in the style of an improver and is taken to defy the handicapper under conditions that suit. Manx Royal rates the main danger on his latest second behind Arrayou but that form has since been let down and he looks vulnerable under top weight. Mister Friday has conditions to suit but all his best form of late has been in hunter chases and for that reason he has been opposed. Rare Society would have place claims on his best form but ran as if in the handicappers grip last time out. Hawks Landing is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is hard to win with and looks vulnerable to a less exposed type. Of the remainder Celtic Lord has dropped to a handy mark and could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Garde Bien.
