Verdict

This is a moderate finale to the afternoon's action and what can only a be a tentative vote goes to Cleveland, who has been running consistently well here of late, and he gets the verdict ahead of Arctic Desert and Moral Code. The last mentioned is less exposed than his rivals and has shown some signs of ability but needs to improve on the balance of his form so far to trouble the judge. James Given's Todwick Owl was good value for his maiden success here two starts ago but has again disappointed back in a handicap since then, while Elusive Warrior looks to be going the right way and has slipped to a fair mark so cannot be discounted. Gay Kelleway's Arctic Desert has shown a consistent level of form and should be thereabouts again but preference is for Cleveland.
