      Verdict

      ERNEST was unfancied in the betting over track and trip last time but popped-up at 20/1 with Margot Rose well beaten. Clearly at home on this surface, he can makes a winning start in handicaps at the main expense of Excelling Oscar. The latter has won three times over longer trips here since November while Ya Halla scored over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton in January but has yet to race on the Fibresand. Foxtrot Knight may prove best of the rest.
