    Verdict

ROYAL CREST is our selection in the maiden with Feudal and Azharia put up as alternatives. The selection was best of the newcomers on his Southwell debut and should have learned plenty. The gelding represents the Jamie Osborne stable and can continue their good run. Feudal is still an entire and he probably ran a little too green to do himself justice. Mark Johnston's runners are always respected at this grade and there is a fair chance that he can improve upon his debut. Azharia makes a belated debut. A 62,000 guineas purchase at the sales, she is watched accordingly in the market. This could prove to be a tightly contested maiden stakes and we side with Royal Crest.
