      Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for this maiden and the principals look to be Ruffed, Seattle Robber, Blue Hills and Penway and the narrow vote is given to Ruffed. The selection hails from a yard that can ready a newcomer and this well bred soft a half brother to the fairly useful AW and soft ground performer Ofaraby will not have to be any thing special to win this on his debut. Seattle Robber rates the main danger on his latest third behind Screenplay but he has had plenty of chances without taking one and for that reason he is opposed. Blue Hills is another that could go well on his best form but he was very disappointing behind Precious Mystery last time for no apparent reason so can not be put forward with any confidence. Of the remainder Penway was a fair fourth behind Malibu last time out over this trip and that form gives him definite place claims but he has been tried over a variety of trips without success and may be triples so for the winner we return to the well bred Ruffed.
