      Verdict

West End Lad gets the vote in a poor contest ahead of Niqaab and Phone Call. The selection showed his first sign of form for a switch to this surface and if able to reproduce it, he wouldn't be out of the running in what is a very poor contest. Niqaab left Barry Hills and is yet to show much for Willie Musson. Officially the BHA figures suggest him to be a player in this contest. Phone Call is sent back on the flat after an abortive campaign over hurdles. Conclave didnt look anything special over 14 furlongs but this race isnt that hot. Eddystone was a cheap cast off from the Sheikh Mohammed operation and on recent evidence, they have little to worry about. West End Lad can only be recommended to the most minimum of stakes.
