        Verdict

        Brian Ellison's stable is enjoying a purple patch at Southwell and his MIEREVELD is fancied to follow up a recent C&D success if the eye-shields work for a second time. Carnac is nothing special but probably still the pick of Alan McCabe's pair as he finished a long way in front of stablemate Mojeerr here last time. Ramora won here in November and was second over C&D last time, albeit beaten 14 lengths. Olivia Maylam's mare is probably the danger to the selection.
