Verdict

Recent good form is few and far between here, but it should still remain competitive and we like the look of CAP ST JEAN who is put forward to score here at the main expense of Flores Sea and Captain Jacksparra. The selection was a course and distance winner last time and looks capable of completeing the double. The five-year-old is in decent form of late and really knows the track well. He often loses races by giving himself too much to do but the conditions here are ideal and anything other than a win will be disappointing. Flores Sea is another who knows the course well and the gelding was a winner over course and trip just four starts ago. Form since then has been a little disappointing, that said he is 6lbs higher than when last winning. He still looks weighted to score though and should do well here. Captain Jacksparra has rather inconsistent form to his name and he has proven difficult to predict in the past. Some of his best races have come here, and although he hasn¿t raced here for over two years and his recent form has been dismal, we think he looks capable of making the minors. The remainder offer very little on the bare form and the market should reveal more clues. Obe Royal took a victory over course and distance earlier this year but recent form has been disappointing so he may be best watched. CAP ST JEAN makes the selection in what should be a competitive affair.
