In depth

Verdict

All nine runners here have some sort of chance but the vote goes to SAOI, the least exposed of the entries. Jim Bolger's charge made a winning debut on ground with some give at Kilbeggan and ran very well in a Killarney handicap behind Prince Jock when the going was fast. He has scope for much more progress and is fairly treated. The consistent Snap Alam also finished behind Prince Jock last time, at Ballinrobe, and is only 2lbs higher than when scoring there in June. Treasure The Cross found the going at Leopardstown much too quick after scoring on yielding ground at Wexford while King's Vintage had no chance in the Oaks at the Curragh after easily beating last week's shock winner Top Spin at Killarney. The Ballydoyle pair Bright Horizon and Lastofthemohicans have soon been sent down the handicap route but are worthy of consideration here though both have done better over longer trips.
