Verdict

It's rare for Jim Bolger to keep a five-year-old maiden in training so the presence of AN SPAILPIN FANACH, who is still an entire, looks significant. He was staying on late on his debut over a mile at Dundalk in December and didn't reappear until a month ago when again going on at the finish over 1m2f at Roscommon. This looks his trip and he's handed the vote over Noble Call, who has now had 15 runs without managing a victory though has gone close on several occasions. First Impressions probably needs further as he finished runner-up to the in-form Caim Hill over 2m at Limerick before scoring over 2m5f back over timber there. Useful bumper and hurdler Double Double will be having his first start under Flat rules but he's another who would prefer a longer trip. Bitsanbobs showed signs of potential on his debut at the Curragh and will have come on for the run.
