Moor Spirit made an encouraging return at Hexham earlier this month and has to be respected on that evidence but this may come too soon for Peter Beaumont's gelding and preference is for Malt de Vergy, who gets the vote over Stormy Beech. The last mentioned gave every indication that he would come on for his reappearance run when weakening late on at Newcastle recently and he has to be respected. Barton Sun looks to be one of the lesser lights in Ferdy Murphy's stable but has claims, especially given the form of the yard. Annibale Caro is hard to recommend on recent form and the vote goes to Malt de Vergy. Len Lungo's gelding showed improved form for the switch to fences for his reappearance at Carlisle earlier this month and a reproduction of that effort may suffice.
