Verdict

HEATH HUNTER, a dual bumper winner, started favourite on his hurdling debut at Wincanton but found Amore Alato too strong. The winner could be useful and the step up in trip is certain to suit so David Pipe's charge looks the one to be on. He receives 7lb from Oscar Tanner, a winner at around this trip at Hexham on fast ground in June before finding 3m stretching his stamina there the following month. Downtown Boy, the winner of two moderate events on the Flat, hasn't shown much in two starts over hurdles and winning bumper Minella Hero was well beaten on his hurdling bow at Uttoxeter.
