In depth

Verdict

SPEED STEED gets a confident vote in this having only found the potentially-useful Empire Levant too strong on his chasing bow at Doncaster. Tim Vaughan's gelding has won over hurdles and on the Flat in the last 12 months. Venture To War has shown little in three previous tries over fences while Peaks Of Fire is only a plater over hurdles. Bocamix did manage three wins over timber but was pulled up and then tailed off in two previous runs over fences.
