Verdict

CLASSIC COLORI hasn't been disgraced in two tough handicaps since scoring at Musselburgh and this represents a big drop in class. He may prove too good for Brae Hill, another who takes a big drop in grade though he hasn't won since landing last year's Lincoln. Jo'Burg represents David O'Meara, like the selection, and he scored in a similar race to this at Doncaster earlier this month. Balty Boys landed an Epsom handicap on his penultimate start when Lowther was a long way behind.

Formwatch

Balty Boys (IRE) 7-1 (10-5) Went left start, led, hung right from 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, 6th of 10, 5l behind Labienus (9-4) at Ascot 7f hcp 0-85 (4) gf.

Brae Hill (IRE) 16-1 (9-3) Dwelt, held up in centre group, well beaten over 2f out, last of 19, 34l behind Field Of Dream (9-7) at Newmarket 7f hcp (2) gf.

Lowther 20-1 (9-12) Anticipated start when rider removed hood hit front of gates and lost all chance, last of 12, well behind Balty Boys (10-0) at Epsom Downs 7f hcp 0-85 (4) gd.

Classic Colori (IRE) 5-1 (9-4) Towards rear, driven over 2f out, ridden and kept on from over 1f out, never troubled leaders, 6th of 9, 6l behind Storm King (9-7) at Doncaster 1m hcp 0-90 (3) gd in Jun.

Jo'burg (USA) 25-1 (9-4) Missed break, held up in rear, outpaced over 3f out, ridden and headway over 1f out, stayed on to take 3rd inside final furlong, no impression with front pair, 3rd of 9, 4 1/2l behind Frog Hollow (9-6) at York 1m hcp 0-90 (3) gf.
