Verdict

Plenty have run in the Grand National and turned up here a couple of weeks later. Burton Port was second last year having unseated his rider at Aintree and Royale Knight fared better than Rocky Creek, Unioniste and Ely Brown in this year's renewal and is a stout stayer. Duke Of Lucca won the 3m1f handicap chase on Grand National day but WONDERFUL CHARM wasn't far behind and was staying on strongly in the closing stages. Paul Nicholls' seven-year-old can take his revenge and be another big-race winner for his yard, though there are also possibilities about Irish raider Grand Jesture who ran well behind The Druid's Nephew at Cheltenham and holds Lost Legend on that run. Bobs Worth is a former Gold Cup winner but hasn't fired at all this term and this is a stronger race than the one The Package won at Cheltenham when 10lb lower - the latter last ran in this race in 2010 when fifth. Bally Legend may have stamina limitations and Le Reve will also have to prove he stays but he does like it here and is fancied to reverse Kempton running with Rocky Creek. Hunter chaser Paint The Clouds will enjoy the going and may fare best of the rest, though Sam Waley-Cohen may put up a couple of pounds of overweight.
