In depth

Verdict

Fairfield Flame may be able to get the better of Criterion and Amerigo in an open heat. Downhiller, Tourism and Always Bold were all slightly disappointing at Leicester and, although it's too soon to be writing them off, they all have a little to prove now. That's certainly not the case with the selection who responded well to the fitting of blinkers to win readily at Nottingham from a big field. Kiribati King was one of those behind and he may not have benefited from the steady pace but, such was the ease with which the selection won, that he's taken to confirm the form on the revised terms. Criterion didn't do anything quickly at Thirsk but kept on resolutely and the fourth has since gone on to win impressively to boost the form and he must be feared. Amerigo is also completely unexposed but he is hard to assess with only a couple of those behind him at Yarmouth to have run since and those that have done so have run poorly. He'd be of interest if attracting market support but we'll stick with the proven claims of Fairfield Flame.
