Verdict

The feature race may go the way of Candelabra, ahead of topweight Contractor and the gutsy And Toto Too. Candelabra has won two of her three starts this term, most recently at Yarmouth a week ago, when she absolutely bolted up to the tune of five lengths. The manner of her victory suggests that she should be well up to defying a penalty, and the daughter of Grand Lodge should take all the beating. Contractor has also been in form of late, with a course and distance victory to his credit the time before last. He obviously likes a stiff finish, and his pilot Robert Miles takes five pounds off the back of the Epsom raider. Khabir is lightly raced and may have more to give, but And Toto Too makes just as much appeal off her light weight. Strictly on the book, David Evans' filly is not entitled to confirm Lingfield form over Beneking but is the more reliable of the pair, the latter still a maiden after 17 starts. She might sneak into the frame, but we take Candelabra to make light work of her rivals from what is still a decent mark.
