Verdict

The drop back to seven furlongs will suit both Will He Wish and Pintle here and we will side with the latter, while Point Of Dispute could be the other leading player. Pintle relished the step up from six to seven furlongs when landing Class D handicaps at Yarmouth and Leicester in July and was far from disgraced when two lengths behind Pango in sixth place at Goodwood last time. That is decent form in the context of this race, and the drop back seems ideal, so we will take her to score. Will He Wish is another in good nick at present, having also landed a Yarmouth handicap over seven furlongs last month and then finished third in a decent Kempton classified over a mile. Seven furlongs looks his optimum trip though and we expect him to give the selection most to do. Of the others, Point Of Dispute is one to make a note of. Another who specialises at this trip, Peter Makin's gelding has not won since November 2001, but is running consistently well in defeat this year and can again make the frame. For the winner though, we take Pintle to go in for the ladies.
