Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

A smashing race, in which most of the runners can be given a chance, but you'll get a good run for your money with course and distance winner Island House. Geoff Wragg's bonny horse comes here in good heart following a comfortable Goodwood win but they'll be queuing up to take him on. Among that list will be the French Group 3 runner-up last time, Naheef, Henry Cecil's well-touted Burning Sun, last year's Royal Ascot winner and Arlington Million fourth Ulundi, and Sir Michael Stoute's well-regarded Artistic Lad, who comes here on the back of a Leicester maiden win (in which Kalaman finished fourth) but holds an entry for the King George at Ascot later in the month. In a fascinating race, the others need to improve on their established rating, but that is by no means beyond possibility. The percentage call, however, is Island House.
