    Verdict

In a race where the betting should be viewed with interest, we will side with Farringdon ahead of Prince Ary, Pagan Crest and Cockatoo. Farringdon is by Sadler's Wells and a brother to Grand Central and other decent performers. He certainly catches the eye on breeding and could prove the answer to this affair. Pagan Crest, a half-brother to Intrepid Jack, can be expected to improve for his Newbury debut, while Cockatoo is a well-bred newcomer that should be noted in the betting. A half-brother to Mind Games, Prince Ary is also of interest, while Tempsford Flyer has something to like on breeding. On the little that we know or can guess about the others, it looks as though we have identified those that will be the major players today, with Farringdon getting the vote.
