      Verdict

Richard Hannon senior loved this race and won it four times in the past five years. This year's stable representative, TUPI, can continue the trend for the yard as she wasn't beaten far by Highland Reel in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood before finding trouble in-running in France. Winters Moon made a fine start at Newmarket and started favourite for a Group 3 there three weeks ago but couldn't find a finishing burst and had to settle for third spot. Mister Universe followed a York maiden victory by leading for a long way in a Newmarket Group 2 but couldn't keep up the gallop after leading early. Elm Park looked well suited to soft ground when scoring easily at Newbury and there's plenty more to come but Beverley winner Groor will need to find more in this company.
