In depth

Verdict

Craigstown and Special Reserve set the standard but they do look vulnerable and it may be worth taking a chance with Sinaaf. The selection hails from the Tregoning yard that has won this race twice in the last seven years; the yard's form could be better but has shown signs of revival in the past fortnight. The Nayef filly showed ability in two Lingfield maidens over seven furlongs last autumn that have produced winners and she should relish this longer trip. Craigstown bumped into a useful sort last time and had the remainder well held but that form may still not amount to much and Special Reserve may pose a bigger threat as he is the highest rated of the pair by 4lbs. Lobby is worth a second look as is John Dunlop's Chioroscuro who is a half-brother to Kayf Tara but our tentative vote goes the way of Sinaaf.
