In depth

Verdict

Three Graces probably met an improving performer when second to Able Baker Charlie at Newbury last time and is taken to go one better here at the main expense of Boston Lodge and Binanti. The last mentioned bounced back to form when beating Contractor over seven furlongs at Sandown last time but has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip and is probably best watched. Self Evident ran disappointingly in the Brittania last time and is better judged on previous efforts at Beverley and Newmarket. However, Amanda Perrett's colt has to give weight away all round and we prefer to side with Three Graces. Marcus Tregoning's colt is less exposed than most of these and won with plenty in hand at Haydock behind his narrow reversal last time. He gets the vote with Boston Lodge, from the back-to-form yard of Paul Cole rated the main danger.
