In depth

Verdict

Peak Storm was engaged to run at Chepstow yesterday but has gone off the boil slightly anyway whilst Flexible Friend has been competing in better company, although after a series of acceptable efforts he flopped badly last time behind Sunraider in a Hamilton sprint. Cross that effort from the formbook and he boasts decent claims in a first-time hood. Small Fury needs to improve whilst Jimmy Elder has landed both successes over 6f and seems to have developed an affinity with Chepstow of late. He's highly respected but CLEMENT just gets the nod. Both career wins have come on polytrack but he's perfectly capable on grass as exemplified by a recent third to Red Explorer over 6f, especially as he looked in need of this seventh furlong on that occasion.
