Newton Cross has failed to reproduce winning Polytrack form on Turf and is best watched until doing so whilst Air Squadron, having shown little in three runs in France, was tailed-off when backed into favouritism on his UK debut on the Fibresand. He won't be the last to not take to that special surface and it will be interesting to see if the money comes for him again reverting to Turf. BENBECULA has been in good form over timber this year where he's rated 120 and is a fair dual purpose performer. Mikey Ennis taking off 7lb is an interesting booking and he looks the safest option in a weak contest. Polstar looked to be going places earlier this year as a hurdler but has suddenly become devoid of spark on recent starts. Presumably he's been sent here in an attempt to rekindle the fire.
