Verdict

Maze and Wooden King were holding their form well in lesser company earlier this year, but both have struggled in this grade of late. In contrast, top weight BERTOLIVER takes a drop in class and, having slipped another 3lb in the weights, looks to have every chance to get his head back in front. Alfresco dead-heated at Goodwood last time and could figure again despite a 5lb rise, but Steelcut has floundered off higher marks since winning at Chester in May and Kyllachy Storm saves his best for Bath. Brandywell Boy could make the frame if in the mood however.
