Verdict

We might have 18 runners turning up for this maiden but form is on the thin side nevertheless Jeremy Noseda's MAJOR LAWRENCE showed enough on debut to suggest he'll be winning this in front of Present Alchemy and Miss Frangipane. A Group Two mission awaits the selection who should build on a good debut when he found just one marginally too good. He's a half brother to the high class Major's Cast so should be capable of more and while his sibling did his best work as a three-year-old other relations point to the selection being able to win as a youngster. Present Alchemy held his form without improving on his second start last time and with the ground perhaps more he his favour this time he looks one to note. Miss Frangipane made an encouraging debut when fourth in a fair maiden but bare form gives her something to find on the selection. High Achieved is related to a Derby winner and looks the most interesting newcomer but with some form already in the book we like Major Lawrence.
