In depth

Verdict

Blues Minor steps up in trip here, however Pha Mai Blue faces an easier task than last time out and gets the vote to score at the third time of asking. The selection made a pleasing debut over course and distance but could never get competitive next time up in a better race at Goodwood after a slow start. William Knight's colt can bounce back here and on ground that suits, a big run looks imminent. Gunnadoit and Wadi Raider look the most interesting of the newcomers, whilst John Dunlop's Goodwood Starlight may need some more time before we see him at his best; the market will help guide to their chances. Stubbs Art has shaped with a degree of promise on his two starts to date and now takes a further step up in trip, whilst Strong Market and Any Given Day both need to step up on their debut efforts but that is entirely possible. All in all this looks competitive, and Pha Mai Blue gets the tentative nod.
