In depth

Verdict

An intriguing maiden with some very well bred sorts lining up. Profitability is taken to benefit from her initial racecourse experience at Newbury and land this for the Gosden yard. The general consensus following that Newbury maiden won by Musical Bar was that it was decent, however, ground conditions meant that many failed to show their potential. Well-supported to land that maiden, when asked for her effort, Profitability failed to pick up, possibly owing to the soft surface. The second and fourth from that Newbury maiden have since scored. Sir Michael Stoute introduces a very well bred newcomer in Main Aim. It will be interesting to read what the delay has been in him making his racecourse debut but he is a half-brother to the former smart colt Home Affairs. By Oasis Dream, he is bred for speed. Carniolan was very well-supported to win last time out but found Onceaponatime too good. The third from that Leicester event runs in the finale at Windsor on Monday evening and how that filly performs will give a good indication of the worth of that Leicester maiden form. The gelding is bred to be more effective over further and ran very much like a horse requiring further at Leicester but obviously connections believe he possess plenty of pace. Rowaad was an eye-catcher last time out, staying on late in the day behind the handicap blot High Standing. It is doubtful whether that form is strong enough to turn over some potential smart sorts in the line up here. Profitability gets the vote to land this maiden.
