      Verdict

      Three-year-olds outnumber the older horses in this but few of them have shown any worthwhile form so far. Moortahan is probably the most interesting of them but took a backward step here on his return to action. All of CATCHANOVA's victories have been achieved off higher marks than this and he has been running well this summer without reward. This may be his chance to get back on track as he gets 7lb from Gary Moore's veteran South Cape, who was only beaten a neck at Lingfield last time but is still edging up the weights. Lady Sylvia was well behind the selection in an amateurs' race at Goodwood last time.
