Verdict

NO HERETIC beat Suegioo on worse terms over 1m4f at Newmarket in the spring and is the clear form pick in this on his latest fifth in the Goodwood Cup when beaten less than six lengths. The drop in distance should be in his favour and, on a line though Suegioo, he appears to have the beating of recent Newmarket winner Mysterious Man. Cavaleiro has placed form at Group 3 and Listed level so can't be ignored as he probably needed his run at Goodwood in July but the three-year-old Asbaab is a lot less exposed, though this is a step up from the maiden he won at HQ. Viking Storm won four times last year but has paid the price this campaign.
